Medical Security is the only professional liability insurance company founded and operated by North Carolina dentists. Medical Security has never strayed from its original mission of protecting our profession with stable, affordable insurance.
Medical Security was formed by dentists in partnership with the North Carolina Dental Society in 1988. Our financial strength, unrivaled defense of claims, and acclaimed risk management strategies have earned us the exclusive endorsement of the North Carolina Dental Society.
Five practicing North Carolina dentists serve on Medical Security's Board of Directors and provide invaluable leadership and advice on the needs of our dentist members. Because we are dentists, Medical Security is uniquely positioned to understand the challenges you face in today's changing health care environment.
Medical Security also partners with the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, providing professional liability insurance for students and faculty, as well as educational and risk management programs. Our team has provided Practice Management, Risk Management, and Ethics Seminars to students and faculty at the UNC School of Dentistry. Because we are committed to educating the next generation of North Carolina dentists, Medical Security has specified an endowment for an annual dental education scholarship. The Medical Security Scholarship for Leadership in Dentistry will be awarded to a student who exhibits excellent academic and leadership skills.
