Community Boards

Medical Mutual established Physician Community and Administrator Advisory Boards to improve communications between medical community leaders and ourselves. They were built on the basic assumption that the more information a company can gather from and about its clients, the better able the company is to meet the clients' needs.

The first Physician Community Board meetings were held in the fall of 1998. Realizing the benefits of the Physician Boards, we decided in the spring of 2001 to expand the concept to include administrators and office managers. Currently, there are six Boards for the following regions: Mountains, Charlotte, Triangle, Triad, Wilmington, and Virginia.

The Boards meet twice annually - in the spring and fall. The meetings provide a superior platform for sharing and gathering information. Our board members serve as "sounding boards" for us when brainstorming new projects and services, and they have even helped us resolve a variety of issues - from marketing to risk management. Furthermore, we believe the Boards create "ambassadors" for our company, while serving as a training ground for future Corporate Board membership.
