Formed in 1988, Medical Security Insurance Company, a member company of The Medical Mutual Group, began insuring North Carolina dentists and received the exclusive endorsement of the North Carolina Dental Society.

Policy features include, but are not limited to:

• FULL Prior Acts coverage is available on a case by case basis pending approval by underwriting.
• Loss of earnings: $500 per day to a maximum of $12,500.
• FULL Extended reporting period (tail) coverage available at no additional charge for:
  • Death;
  • Total and permanent disability; or
  • Retirement at any age after 5 years as a Medical Security policyholder.
• A 50% credit is offered as a Part-time discount - 20 hours or less per week.
• MED-DEFENSE - reimburses up to $25,000 if legal representation is needed when brought in front of a credentialing committee or licensing board. Such as the N.C. State Board of Dental Examiners
