On-Site Risk Assessment
Three Reasons Why Your Practice Should Consider a Risk Assessment
- Reduce Your Risk
Learn where risk exposures lie within your practice. At your convenience, a Risk Consultant will provide you and your staff with this insight, once a risk assessment is performed. Specific recommendations will be outlined in a report that will assist you in taking action for change.
- Prevent Claims
By taking a proactive approach to loss prevention, a physician is better prepared to endure the ever-evolving climate of health care liability.

Risk Management Recognized by A.M. Best
Medical Mutual's Risk Management Department was recognized by A.M. Best for its state-of the-art Risk Assessment Process for Improving Patient Safety Outcome. The featured article in the Innovators Showcase was published in the January 2012 issue of Best's Review.
Innovators Showcase, in conjunction with its panel of insurance industry experts, recognized insurance organizations that developed "forward-thinking projects that have a fundamental impact on critical processes, as well as outcomes for a company and its clients." Regarding the merits of Medical Mutual's Innovators Showcase submission, an insurance industry expert wrote, "Risk identification and analysis are key first steps in determining a company's risk exposures. Medical Mutual Insurance Company of North Carolina has created a process for health care clients that achieves both. It is a winner."
Results continue. Our Risk Assessment process has identified more than 8000 risk exposures since its inception in 2007. At year-end 2013, practices corrected more than 6,000 risk exposures. This has yielded an approximate 77% reduction in medical malpractice risk exposures.
