Medical Mutual launched an updated office-based Risk Assessment program in 2007 that provides the most accurate and detailed measurement of risk exposures to date. The comprehensive program is tailored to identify areas of risk and improve patient outcomes in medical office settings.
Medical Mutual is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

In-Office Risk Assessment
Our highly trained Risk Consultants provide an on-site, comprehensive assessment of office systems and medical records. They identify areas of malpractice risk for physicians and physician extenders, and offer strategies that can reduce the identified risks that commonly generate claims. At the conclusion of your assessment, you will receive risk analyses for your practice and each of your physicians and facilities. Physician and extenders who attend the summary presentation may claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
Risk Management Seminars
Our physician-focused risk management seminars feature nationally recognized speakers including Gerald Hickson, MD and James Pichert, PhD of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Drs. Hickson and Pichert help physicians reduce their risk of a lawsuit by effectively communicating adverse outcomes to patients and families.
Medical Mutual's Risk Management team also develops and delivers seminars that incorporate case studies, claims data, specialty-specific clinical recommendations, and comprehensive literature reviews of procedures and treatment outcomes. Physician and Advanced Practice Practitioners who attend our seminars may claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
Office Staff Education
Our Risk Consultants conduct educational seminars for administrators and office staff on Risk Management topics. Our seminars highlight issues such as patient satisfaction, communication, documentation, and medication management. The seminars are updated continually to reflect risks associated with the constantly evolving health care delivery system.
Medical Mutual's Risk Management team is an indispensable resource for physicians and office staff. Our Risk Managers are available by phone to respond to questions and meet your immediate needs. Our print resources include procedure-specific informed consent forms, an electronic medical record guide, a toolkit for practices who prescribe anticoagulation therapy, a disaster plan for medical offices, and other bulletins that alert you to potential risks and advise you on ways of minimizing those risks.
